Ben was awarded the John Mather Nobel Scholarship Award*

 attended NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
June-Aug 2009 with Dr. Igor Eberstein and the NSAS Advanced Supercomputer Division, Greenbelt, MD on the Photo Dissociation of Hydrogen and Deuterium.

*Presented by the John and Jane Mather Foundation, which in turn was funded from the award of the 2006 Nobel Prize for Physics to Dr. John Mather for his work on the "Big Bang" theory and presented by the Henry Foundation, Inc.  Ben is only one of 17 international students to have won the award and the first student in the state of Vermont.

Exciting News!!
 Ben and Bethany Turcotte have been selected to attend ACE Camp, August 8 - 12
  They have been appointed as Junior Counselors at the camp.

2005

Aerospace Technology Engineering Challenge
The title of this year's project is
"To Eternity and Beyond".

We are proud of this great accomplishment & honor to this brother and sister  team who are home schooled by the mother and teacher, Mrs. Susan Turcotte.

and
VT Space Grant Consortium/ NASA EPScoR

The Regional 1st place winners, Ben and Bethany Turcotte, received awards from NASA Headquarters,  presented by Laurel Zeno, VT-NASA Student Involvement Program (NSIP) Coordinator and Program Coordinator, VT Space Grant Consortium, in the presence of the Honorable James Douglas, Governor, in his Ceremonial Office at the State Capitol Building, in Montpelier, VT on June 22, 2005. Governor Douglas greeted  the students, their teacher, Susan Turcotte, (mother),  family and special guests.  The Governor honored the Turcottes  with official congratulatory statements and recognized the presence of Martha Hanson, Assistant to LT. Governor Brian Dubie, and other official guests. A photo session and reception, in the Ceremonial Office, followed the ceremony.

The Turcottes are home-schooled and are planning to continue their participation in NSIP and  other  NASA programs.


2004
We are proud to announce that two Vermont home schooled students have received 1st Place in the National competition of the (NSIP) NASA Student Involvement Program,
Aerospace Technology Engineering Challenge. 
 The competition is for grades 5-8.

This honor goes to the students:  Alexandre Caillot & Benjamin Turcotte
and their teacher, Mrs. Susan Turcotte
The title of this years competition is "The American Rocket Scientist TRS".

These students attended Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center this summer where the team received the Shuttle Mission Award.  Ben Turcotte, a team member, was awarded "The Right Stuff Award".  Recognition was given at the statehouse in the Governor's Press Conference on April 29, 2004 at 1:00pm. Governor James Douglas presented a certificate from the State of Vermont and Laurel C. Zeno of Vermont Space Grant Consortium presented a NASA plaque to each student, the teacher and a Recognition plaque of their scholastic achievements to be placed publicly to encourage others to pursue their goals.
