May 21 was the National Competition Solar Bike
Race in Kansas.
Unfortunately, David could not attend due to his graduation ceremony from
the University of Vermont (UVM) on the
same day.
Summary and Description of the Invention:
A road bicycle is converted into an electric bike through the use of a battery powered electric motor. The solar bike is a combination of a human powered road bike with an assisted solar electric motor system and aerodynamic fairing. The solar bike allows the rider to pedal the bike and/or have the hub motor power the front wheel with stored energy from the batteries.
