Consortium Development Competition

This project is comprised of 5 components.
(1)  The project is based on VSGC's successful Student Fellowship and Scholarship and Faculty Research Grant programs. It will include a new element targeted funding for summer research experiences (REUs) for undergraduate students in STEM disciplines.

(2)  Supports curriculum development in the University of Vermont (UVM) College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS).  This component will allow the introduction of Complex Systems elements into a key course in CEM's School of Engineering.

(3)  A joint research project between two young faculty members at Middlebury Collage and St. Michael's College.  It will include a joint team of Middlebury and St. Michael's undergraduates and will provide these students with a research mentor.

(4) Component is based at Vermont Technical College (VTC) and will support the development and testing of a prototype instrument for a joint research project involving faculty and students at VTC and UVM.

(5) Component will involve a joint team of senior engineering undergraduates from Norwich University and UVM in the design of elements of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for a national engineering competition.
