Computer Resource Allocations

Computer Resource Allocations: These awards will consist of computer time and disk storage space in UVM's CEM Computer Facility. The CEM-CF is a sophisticated UNIX computing environment in which workstations, microcomputers, and supercomputers are linked by a state-of-the-art network. Remote access is provided by dial-in lines available for users with modems. A standard Space Grant Computer Allocation Award will consist of the required computer time needed for the research project plus up to 15 Megabytes of disk storage. Storage requirements in excess of this level should be explicitly noted and fully justified. These awards will not include telephone charges for connecting to the CEM-CF via a modem, but a Faculty Research Minigrant may be proposed for this purpose. Applicants should send a short proposal detailing the proposed activity to the Consortium office:

Vermont Space Grant Consortium
Votey Building
University of Vermont
Burlington, Vermont 05405

The application deadline for the competition is March 15. Proposals will be reviewed, and results of the competition will be announced in early April.
